Written Admission Test for the master's Program Psychology on August 20, 2025
The registration period for the admission procedure prior to acceptance into the master's program in Psychology ended on July 15, 2025.
A total of 188 applicants have completed the registration properly.
The number of applicants registered by July 15, 2025, exceeds the number of available places (40) as specified in the performance agreement of the University of Innsbruck. Therefore, a written admission test is required.
The written test will take place on August 20, 2025. All properly registered applicants will receive detailed information about the procedure, safety regulations, location, time, exam duration, etc., by July 25, 2025, via email through their LFU:online account.
For organizational reasons, we kindly ask you to notify us in writing if you decide not to take part in the admission test for the master's program in Psychology at the University of Innsbruck.
All properly registered applicants were informed via a message in their LFU:online account (found under the tabs “My Forms” → “Inbox”) on July 16, 2025.
If you are interested in the master's Programme Psychology it is important to be aware of the following conditions: Each academic year, the University of Innsbruck makes the following number of study places available: 40. In order to obtain one of these places of study, you need to complete the following steps:
Admission Procedure - Workflow
Online-Registration and Payment of the Handling Fee*: 1st March till 15th July 2025;
- Registration for the Admission Procedure.
- Enter your data into the system, pay the handling fee of 50 Euro and register for the master's Programme Psychology. Please note that the fee can only be paid by credit card or instant bank transfer in the last 4 days before the end of the registration period in order to prevent subsequent payments.
- After you have completed the registration you can print your confirmation of registration.
* you will find further information about the payment of the handling fee in the amount of € 50.-- in the University of Innsbruck announcement resp. the available payment terms within the online registration.
Admission test
If there are more applicants than places, an admission test will take place on 20th August 2025. You will receive timely information about the venue and time of the test after the registration deadline.
The admission test is a written test and includes subject-related questions and basic methodological skills equal to Bachelor's level. The duration of the test is about 90 minutes (1,5 hours) maximum.These fields refer to the following literature (German only):

The results of the admission test will be arranged in descending order, i.e. the best applicants can be admitted for this study programme at the University of Innsbruck if the general requirements are met according to §§ 63 and following of the Universities Act 2002. Admission to the University of Innsbruck is only possible for the winter semester 2025/2026 or the summer semester 2026. For a later admission you have to pass the admission procedure again.
Please note that you have to be awarded one of the study places, available for the academic year 2025/2026 and submit an application to the Admission Department to prove that you have competed a relevant bachelor’s degree programme. Please refer to the information on admission policies.
We kindly ask applicants who require special aids or support (e.g. severe visual impairment, hearing aids, barrier-free access, other physical and mental impairments) to contact the Office of the Disability Officer by 15 July 2025 at the latest so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
