rules & guidelines

  • Entries must be either in English, French, Italian or Spanish.
  • Bilingual or multilingual speakers are welcome to submit entries in the languages of their choice. However, in case of a tie, those who have submitted their work in a foreign or second language will be given priority (please note that mother tongue(s) / first language(s) should be indicated clearly in the entry form).
  • All entries should have a title and adhere to the word limit i.e. 1,000 - 1,500 words.  A cover or title page can be included.
  • An introductory note, summarising the main message of your text in a short paragraph and the motivation to engage with the topic should be included on the entry form.
  • All entries must be formatted as a single-spaced document and submitted in PDF. To standardise entries and ensure equal treatment, please use Arial, 12pt font.
  • All entries must be the work of the person entering. The copyright remains with the author.
  • Entries will not be eligible in case the writer is part of the judging process or a close family member or relative of any such person.
  • Entries must be submitted by or on the closing date, Sunday, April 28th, 2024, 24:00 – extended to May 1st !
  • Awards event in June 2024 - details TBA
