Production technology – Universität Innsbruck

Chair of Production Technology

Welcome to our Website!

The Chair of Production Engineering ("Professur für Fertigungstechnik", PfF), which is part of the Institute of Mechatronics, has been headed by Prof. Dr. Robert Weidner since August of 2018. The professorship is dedicated to research into the future of work, which is carried out in cooperation with and with the support of research and industrial partners from industry, science and politics, as well as funding bodies. We work on basic research projects and the development of industry-related applications.

A current focus - although research is not limited to this - is research into technical systems for physical relief during physical tasks (support systems/exoskeletons) for various application contexts in professional and everyday life, e.g. industry and care. In addition to basic and application-ready technologies, e.g. systems for supporting activities at and above head height or for load handling, methods for development and evaluation as well as concepts for human-machine interaction are being developed.
