§ 6 Right of cancellation

In the case of a consumer transaction within the meaning of the Consumer Protection Act, the statutory right of cancellation applies. The cancellation period is 14 days from conclusion of the contract. Cancellation instructions and a cancellation form are attached to the confirmation of enrolment, but their use is not mandatory. If the registration is made within 14 days before the start of the course and contract, the participants expressly agree to the start of the course or the fulfilment of the contract before the expiry of the cancellation period. If Career Service courses or the fulfilment of the contract are completed or the contract has been fulfilled before the end of the cancellation period, the participants declare that they waive their right of cancellation.

§ 7 Cancellation conditions

In the event of being unable to attend, a written or online cancellation is required. From the time of binding registration, 100% of the course fee or the fee for a further Career Service programme will be charged. This does not affect any right of cancellation in accordance with § 6. In the event of non-attendance at the start of the course or non-utilisation of a further service offer, the full amount will be charged. If the registration requirements are met, a substitute participant will only be accepted for face-to-face or live online events and other services (e.g. application photos) at no additional cost.

§ 8 Cancellation of Career Service courses / cancellation of individual lecturers or external service providers / exclusion

The University of Innsbruck reserves the right to cancel or revoke individual Career Service courses or other Career Service offers if the required minimum number of participants is not reached, the lecturer or external service provider falls ill and no replacement is available or legal/official regulations do not allow the course to be held. In this case, the course contribution/fee already paid will be refunded in full immediately.

No refund of the course contribution/fee will be made to participants who terminate the course programme or Career Service offer prematurely for reasons within their control. The same applies to participants who are excluded from a course format or career service programme due to non-compliance with essential regulations, in particular serious or repeated violations of the house rules and rules of use.

Likewise, no refund of parts of the course fee will be made if a lecturer or external service provider is replaced. Refunds of parts of the course fee/fee are also excluded in the case of minor changes (e.g. change of date or location, conversion to a virtual lecture) that are objectively justified. In the event of postponements or cancellations, no compensation can be paid for expenses incurred (e.g. travel expenses, parking fees, costs for lost time) if these are not due to intent or gross negligence on the part of the University of Innsbruck or the lecturer.

The current version of the House and User Regulations of the University of Innsbruck shall apply: House and User Regulations - University of Innsbruck

A repeated or serious violation of the House and User Regulations or other safety regulations of the University of Innsbruck that justify a ban from the premises will result in exclusion from further participation in the programme; in this case, the course fee/fee will not be refunded, not even on a pro rata basis.

In the event of theft, loss or damage to items brought to the Career Service course, in particular valuables, the University of Innsbruck accepts no liability, unless it is guilty of gross negligence.
