Reingard Spannring works at the Department of Educational Science. Her current research focuses on educational research, youth research, environmental education, the climate crisis and human-animal studies. She focuses – among other things – on the Anthropocene (era of man), life-long learning and critical pedagogy. Currently, she is working on a book on Climate Change Education with Prof. Suzanne Kapelari and Dr. Lucas Weinberg (Faculty for Teacher Training and School Development).

About
Reingard Spannring studied sociology at the University of Vienna and social and political thought at Sussex University. She received her PhD in sociology from the University of Vienna in 2005, worked at the Institute for Advanced Studies and was head of the Austrian Institute for Youth Research in Vienna. She has been a research associate at the Institute of Educational Science at the University of Innsbruck since 2006. At the University of Innsbruck, she is a member of the research center “Education - Generation - Life Course”, a member of “Human-Animal Studies Innsbruck” and a member of the “European Educational Research Association” (EERA).
