Project Liss 2nd founding period – Universität Innsbruck
We will define the cell-specific subunit composition and functional roles of L-type and other voltage gated Ca2+ channels in young, mature and aging dopamine neurons in health and disease states. In particular, we aim to define their age-dependent contributions in dopamine neurons to their electrical activity pattern, and their selective vulnerability to degeneration in Parkinson's Disease.
