Digital International Affairs (D.I.A)
The Continuing Education master’s Programme Digital International Affairs (D.I.A.) prepares graduates for international careers in digital environments. Students develop an understanding of the impact of digitalisation on structures and processes of international relations (for example in the field of diplomacy or international security). At the same time, their competences in the application of digital technologies, data and research methods are promoted.
The master's program is carried out in cooperation with Vienna School of International Studies.

Qualification profile
Graduates
- are familiar with central concepts, theories and debates in the academic discussion of the political, economic and legal dimensions of contemporary and historical international relations.
- can describe and critically reflect on the nature and impact of digitalisation in different dimensions of international relations.
- can formulate research questions and develop research designs.
- are proficient in common techniques for generating, processing, analysing and visualising data.
- are able, under the guidance of a supervisor, either to write a scientific paper on a relevant problem or to work on the (further) development of a digital application with a relevant connection.
Target Group
This Continuing Education master’s Programme is aimed at
- students interested in further academic education in the field of international relations or digital (social) sciences.
- students interested in working in the field of international and transnational relations (e.g. in the field of diplomacy, politics, public administration, media, etc.).
Requirements
For being admitted to the master’s programme, a completed Bachelor’s programme at a university is required.
The selection process includes written applications from the participants (letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, transcript of records of studies, diploma certificate, language certificates in English, two academic letters of recommendation), which are reviewed by the course directors.
