Weapon Reliability Assessment
The uWIN – Weapon Reliability Assessment and Supervision – is aimed at psychologists in Austria who would like to undergo subject-specific further training in accordance with the provisions of the 1st Weapon Reliability Ordinance and want to take part in the annually prescribed supervision.

Qualification profile
- The seminar provides up-to-date and practical knowledge on the topics of aggression theories, violence prevention, de-escalation and “self-defense” as well as conflict analysis.
- It clears up dangerous misunderstandings and expands the scope of thought and options for action with scientifically sound findings.
- Supervision: Increasing your own safety during assessments and information on the current legal situation
Target Group
- Psychologists in Austria listed by the Ministry of the Interior who are authorised to prepare expert assessment reports on weapon reliability.
- The training is also open to participants in general who are interested in the topics of violence prevention and de-escalation.
Requirements
People who meet the criteria of the target group can participate in the seminar.

Alexander Unterberger has been working in the social sector since 1992 and is a social pedagogue with extensive further training, for example in systemic family work and violence counseling. After founding the STI association for the care of young people with behavioral problems, he took on management positions and founded the training institute “Institut Unterberger” in 2000.
Today, he offers team training, supervision and seminars and hosts the podcast “Sozialfuzzi”.

Violence is a highly misunderstood spectrum of behavior, many of the commonly held background patterns passed down through generations are gross misconceptions. As a result, people are often misjudged, leading to recurring dangerous situations.
This seminar provides up-to-date knowledge on the topic of violent behavior and risk assessments of violent offenders. It clears up dangerous misunderstandings and expands the scope of thought to include scientifically based realities.
