In view of current social challenges such as climate change, land and water use, increasing tourism, urban sprawl, soil sealing and resource consumption, measures to protect habitats and species and to conserve and restore biodiversity and natural habitats are being implemented on the basis of international and national obligations. The aim of this module is to present the framework conditions and concrete implementation of habitat and species protection projects, nature and water law procedures and to offer students an insight into the course of procedures in nature and water protection using case studies. Students apply the knowledge they have acquired in a specific nature and/or water protection project. The students work in groups to design, implement and monitor the project measures, give oral presentations on the progress of the project and present the project in a final report.
