Lisa Steidl-Müller studied Physical Education and Italian Language for becoming a grammar school teacher, as well as Sports Science at the Department of Sport Science at the University of Innsbruck. During her studies, she was an exchange student at the University of Ferrara, Italy, and performed an internship at the Isokinetic – Centre (FIFA Medical Center of Excellence) in Bologna, Italy. While performing her Teaching Practice (“Referendariat”) in the subjects Physical Education and Italian Language at a grammar school in Innsbruck in 2012, she started her PhD studies and worked as student assistant and scientific research assistant at the Department of Sport Science at the University of Innsbruck. In 2015, she finished her PhD-studies in Sports Science; her thesis was awarded with the Award of Excellence by the Ministry for Science, Research and Economy of Austria. While working as a post-doc at the Department of Sport Science at the University of Innsbruck, she worked on her habilitation thesis entitled “Talent development and injury prevention in youth sports on the example of alpine ski racing”. She finished her habilitation in 2020 (venia docendi: Sportwissenschaft mit besonderer Berücksichtigung der Trainingswissenschaft) and has currently a “Laufbahnstelle mit Qualifizierungsvereinbarung”.
