Extend Your Stay – Universität Innsbruck

EXTEND YOUR STAY

Travelling by train is very convenient in Austria. If you are planning to travel more within Austria, buy a Vorteilscard, a ticket that reduces the price for most train tickets by 50 %. If you book several weeks in advance, you can also buy a low-cost ticket (Sparschiene), which allows you to get extremely cheap tickets, but does not allow for any flexibility. You are not allowed to use another train connection on that day. It is bound to a specific time and train.

You could also consider getting an Interrail Pass if you want to explore Europe by train. The ticket either covers trips in multiple countries (Interrail Global Pass) or within one country (Interrail One Country Pass).
