Alice Driver is a writer, journalist and photographer based in Mexico City.

Her long-form reporting, radio, and essays have appeared in The New York Times, National Geographic, Oxford American, The New York Review of Books, CNN, and Longreads, among others.

Driver holds a PhD (2011) and master (2008) in Hispanic Studies from the University of Kentucky. She published the book More or Less Dead: Feminicide, Haunting, and the Ethics of Representation in Mexico (University of Arizona Press, 2015), which she completed during her postdoctoral fellowship at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Mexico City.

Writing is how she seeks justice and equality in a world that is far from that.

Currently, she is working on the photo book Red Flag, which is fruit of the 2021 FotoEvidence Book Award with World Press Photo. The project documents the impact of COVID-19 pandemic in Latin America.
