Motivation
The aim of the project is for universities in Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan to offer training that meets the European Bologna standard and fulfils future knowledge-based market requirements in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energies.
As part of the HEBA project, new Master's programmes are to be set up or existing programmes improved in the fields of energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE). Emphasis will be placed on both individual technologies and system aspects. To support this, centres for RE and EE will be established or expanded with reference to the respective local issues. These centres will cooperate with each other and support the training of Bachelor's and Master's students as well as doctoral candidates. The European partners will support the development of the courses and the centres with their expertise.
HEBA goals
- To increase expertise in the field of "EE+RE" and the rational use of energy;
- Develop/improve curricula in the field of EE+RE systems;
- Improve the dialogue between the EU and universities in the MENA countries and adapt the curricula in the MENA countries to the European system;
- Establish or improve centres for "EE+RE" technologies in the MENA partner countries; these centres should cooperate with each other.
