Dr. Hill’s teams are developing new ways to diagnose lung infections. Some of her team are involved in the detection of lung infections using the molecules in human breath, targeting large killers, like tuberculosis, as well as infections targeting specific populations, such as in those with cystic fibrosis. Her team is also interested in the origin of these breath biomarkers and so some lab members seek to discover their biochemical basis as well as their impact on local pathogenesis. Dr. Hill is also an entrepreneur who is actively working to commercialize the most promising diagnostic biomarker suites.
Dr. Hill is also a masters track and field athlete (focusing on the heptathlon events). Dr. Hill supports of science diplomacy and also believes that it is important to make science accessible to all.
