Susanne Zeilinger-Migsich is a university professor of microbiology and heads the Molecular Mycology and Mycoparasitism research group. She has been successfully involved in fungal research since her doctorate and her current focus is on microbial communication and biocontrol. In particular, she investigates molecular details that characterize the interaction between mycoparasites and their hosts in order to find new starting points for the development of biofungicides in plant protection.

About

Susanne Zeilinger-Migsich studied microbiology and genetics at the University of Vienna. After obtaining her doctorate in 1995, she successfully established working groups in the field of biological plant protection at the Vienna University of Technology, where she habilitated in 2013. In 2015, she was appointed to the University of Innsbruck. Zeilinger-Migsich is on the editorial board of numerous renowned journals and head of the Institute of Microbiology.
