PhD/Postdoc: Currently a call for a PhD is running, please see below! 

Vacant PhD position starting in autumn 2025:  We have an open PhD position for an enthusiastic student having a master degree in Physics or Physical Chemistry and related subjects. The three-year position is related to a project on the experimental study of inelastic electron interaction with biologically relevant molecules. The successful candidate will perform mass spectrometry experiments with different molecules in the gas phase, at isolated and cluster conditions; see for example the open access articles https://doi.org/10.1039/D3CP01162C and https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-10340-8 for previous studies. 

A master thesis (or longer working experience) covering at least one of the following research fields is required: mass spectrometry, collision physics, chemical physics, molecular physics/chemistry, radiation physics or radiation chemistry. Experience in the field of electron spectroscopy is beneficial but not required. 

Following general skills are required: Reliable and precise work; advanced skills in written/spoken English; high motivation for personal development; high social skills and willingness to work in a team.

We offer you to work in an international research team with the focus on low-energy electron collisions. The education within the PhD is broad and offers perspectives to find later a job related to physics and chemistry.

Studentic Coworker: For the next winter semester I am looking for a tutor in my course VO Physics for Chemists Part II (First semester of Bachelor Study Chemistry). The aim of the tutorium is to discuss the current topics in the course by suitable arithmetic examples.
