Specialised Bachelor (French, Italian, Spanish)

The Bachelor's degree programme in French, Italian or Spanish offers you a sound education in the respective language, literature and culture, which opens up a wide range of professional fields: from the media sector to adult education, from cultural management to the diplomatic service or, of course, working in international companies, to name but a few. The BA degree programme in French, Italian or Spanish takes three years (6 semesters) and comprises a total of 180 ECTS credits. You can then go on to study for a Master's degree, for example in our Romance Studies programme (duration 2 years). The study plan ('curriculum') includes the basics of media studies and cultural history (22.5 ECTS), language proficiency (37.5 ECTS), linguistics (25 ECTS), literary studies (25 ECTS), regional and cultural studies (10 ECTS) and interdisciplinary skills (10 ECTS). You also have the opportunity to choose a whole range of courses and modules (30 ECTS) to specialise in your interests (see also elective packages). Two Bachelor's theses must be written in the respective foreign language.
