grants.at is Austria’s biggest online database for scholarships and research grants for all academic areas. Financial support options for students, graduates and researchers range from classical grants and scholarships, allowances and prizes to extensive national, European and international research support programmes.

In order to promote interest in an academic career already at the beginning of undergraduate studies and to provide barrier-free access to professional perspectives for students with disabilities, the University of Innsbruck offers an inclusive support program for students.

For this purpose, the University of Innsbruck invites interested beneficially disabled students to announce their interest in employment by forwarding the data sheet and related documents. After a positive response from the faculty concerned, the student will be employed as a student assistant for a limited period of 6 months with the possibility of an extension to a maximum of 4 years if the need continues, the requirements are met and the performance is positively evaluated. The employment volume is between 4 and 10 hours per week, depending on the preferences / possibilities of the respective faculty and the applicant. The salary is in salary group C according to the collective agreement of the universities and is valid from 01.02.2023 at an employment level of 4 hours per week 238,- Euro gross per month (14 times) and increases accordingly with higher employment levels.

Are you writing a thesis on the South Tyrolean economy? Then the "Bachelor's and Master's theses on the South Tyrolean economy" competition is just right for you!

The WIFO - Institute for Economic Research of the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce supports students who are writing a Bachelor's or Master's thesis on the South Tyrolean economy. The three best research concepts (exposés) will be rewarded with 1,500 euros.

Application deadlines for the next editions: 

  • Summer semester 2024: from April 15, 2024 to June 16, 2024
  • Winter semester 2024/25: from December 1, 2024 to January 31, 2025

The documents can be submitted in German, Italian or English. However, the thesis must not have been completed at the time of application.

With this call, Tyrol is funding industry-related dissertations that are carried out at Tyrolean institutions of higher education (universities and universities of applied sciences) with the involvement of industry. The aim of the call is to make it easier for academics to embark on research careers outside the academic system and to open up new career paths.

What is eligible for funding?
Only dissertation projects that have not yet been started and have a project duration of at least 2 to a maximum of 3 years are eligible for funding. The project must be started within 12 months after handing in the funding application.

A maximum of EUR 110,000 or a maximum of 50% of the total costs will be funded per project. The focus of the funding is on the costs of the doctoral candidate. A curriculum vitae must be submitted with the application.

The call is open from 15.3.2024 to 30.9.2024.

AURORA and the Förderkreis 1669 support young scientists (Master, PhD students, Postdocs) to spend time in a research laboratory or research unit at an Aurora partner university. These research stays are funded up to 3 months with a maximum of EUR 7,000.

TARGET GROUP

The call aims at persons with or without employment at the University of Innsbruck. Master students (the master thesis must already be in an advanced state), PhD students and Postdocs may apply for this programme. The host institution has to be an Aurora partner university (see https://www.uibk.ac.at/de/international/aurora/). 

FUNDING CONDITIONS

The research to be carried out at the host institution should be clearly defined and represent added value to the applicant's research project. The research topics may originate in any discipline.

Travel for the following purposes is not eligible for funding:

  • Guest lectureships with an employment relationship
  • Research in connection with Bachelor's theses
  • Participation in congresses, conferences and meetings

Applicants can apply themselves and do not have to be nominated. However, the supervisor has to support the planned research stay. Before submitting the application, the candidate and/or supervisor must ensure that the host institution can adequately accommodate the applicant.

FURTHER FUNDING CONDITIONS

  • Only travel and accommodation costs are eligible for funding (no daily allowances, meals, cab fares, printing costs, translation fees, costs for visas, vaccinations, vignettes, tolls, telephone etc.). Expenses can be compensated up to the maximum approved total amount.
  • The application must be submitted by a certain deadline. Applications submitted too late cannot be considered. A maximum of 6 months may lie between the submission deadline and the start of the planned secondment. From the deadline, the processing time is approx. 4 weeks. This processing time should be taken into account when submitting the application.
