Sebastian Mader:

“I started to study Organization Studies because I am interested in seeing organization in different ways. Ways that could help to change organizations to the better in my future. Studying this master program was the right choice for me. I learn among others to think critically, not to fear other opinions, to stay cool in heated discussions and to be able to see things from different perspectives. In my view, the master program does not prepare for a specific task in the future, but it definitely develops your own self, offers you a better life, more reflecting, and more conscious acting. Also the learning atmosphere is very inspiring for me. I am learning with people who are obviously interested in the same things as I am. Discussions about topics of study have never been so deep in detail and out of heart before. In our learning circle we do not learn by heart but we discuss the whole subject across several paradigms. This offers me to learn and understand. So the atmosphere could not be better.”

Julia Viehweider:

"What reasons were decisive for you to study Organization Studies? That it is not an ordinary master program, it offers more depth and critical thinking than in other programs. Out of the box thinking, holistic perspective on organizations, challenging the status quo, challenging mainstream management concepts are the skills and competences I obtained during the program. Especially impressive and inspiring were the seminars on change management, ethics, organizational design and the approaches to Organization Studies.
The acquired skills and knowledge is particular helpful in my current job because The critical thinking and challenging of popular management concepts helps to bring added value to senior management in several ways. As a HR Business Partner I consult and support managers and encourage them to think out of the box, and going new directions when it comes to managing their teams and business partners. A strategic and critical perspective on organization as well as people development supports senior management in tackling the current challenges in our organization and industry.”

Maria Göbel:

“For me, OS seemed to be the best next step to follow my path focusing on Human Resource Management. A multiple-perspectives-view, intercultural competence, self-reflection, fluent business English and a curious, permanently analysing mind that searches for possibilities in the organizational life are the skills and competences I obtained during the masters. The learning atmosphere was like in a school class, but without “cliquism”, including friendship, respect, cooperation and fun. There is help offered if someone needs some. And after a long day of learning, there`s always time for having a drink together. Also, the professors` doors are always open.”

Judith Pfliegensdörfer:

“I wanted to study something that was related to learning about organizational structures, the roots of organizational theory and business ethics. Critical reflection, solid argumentation skills, thinking about how organizations work and not just working blindly are the skills and competences I got throughout the program.”

Andrea Bodner:

"The reasons for attending the program were mainly the topics – not a classical management study – somehow looking behind the curtain of the perceived reality. The discussions and the possibility and request for thinking outside the box” is essentially characterizing the program I would say. The learning atmosphere is very good – especially in comparison with the bachelor`s program. Everybody is invited to take part and almost every session is vivid.”

Max Schmid:

“The master of Organization Studies helped me to develop a critical mind, argumentation and writing skills as well as to take a more holistic thinking. Further, I got a deeper understanding of structures within organizations and its connection to certain power constructions. I additionally learned to better understand contrary positions and to accept other’s ideas. In my point of view, the master program is characterized by discussions with people of different nations and cultures as well as diverse family and business backgrounds about important topics of the world and organizations. I have never experienced to get taught a strict view on anything, but to see things from a variety of different viewpoints. The learning atmosphere was very open minded, constructive, co-operative rather than competitive and sometimes even mind-blowing. It is not a special acquired skill which helps me in my current job, but rather the whole result of the master.”
