Hello, I'm Nikolaus Rauch, a PhD student hailing from the scenic city of Innsbruck, Austria. I earned my master's degree in computer science back in 2019. Since then, I've been an active member of the Interactive Graphics and Simulation (IGS) group here at the University of Innsbruck.
My current research focuses on biologically inspired modeling of blood vessel systems for surgical simulation. I also collaborated with the group of Environmental Engineering (IUT) on modelling anaerobic digestion as well as wastewater based epidemiology.
Beyond my academic pursuits, I'm enthusiastic about real-time computer graphics and physically based simulations (visit me on github).
In my free time, I dive into the world of game development; when I'm not immersed in the world of technology, you might find me riding the waves with a kite in hand.
