IRSCHEN (Interdisciplinary Resilience through Science and Cultural Heritage Education Network
2021 the project IRSCHEN (Interdisciplinary Resilience through Science and Cultural Heritage Education Network) was approved in the programme erasmus+ for strategic partnerships in higher education.
The initial point of the project are the excavations of the university of Innsbruck in the late antique settlement on the Burgbichl in the municipality of Irschen in Carinthia. Through the interdisciplinary alliance of all partners working in Greece, Italy and Slovenia, technical skills, media competence and awareness of our common cultural heritage are improved and promoted. The pandemic has shown us the importance of digitalisation, creativity and cultural awareness, which also affects the field of cultural heritage. In the future we need new skills and competences that strengthen creative potential and thus contribute to the resilience of the educational, cultural and creative sectors. The project is a cooperation between academic institutions and private companies that see a great opportunity to improve their skills and offerings in terms of new tools and digital skills and visualisation techniques. The project will provide archaeological camps for students and teaching and training activities for lecturers.
