This unique opportunity brings together bright minds from diverse disciplines, two Aurora Educational Hubs, and a range of Aurora universities to further develop problem-solving and teamwork competences, while also refining oral communication skills.

Both BIPs are organized as an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP). BIPs utilize innovative pedagogical methods through short, intensive programs, combining face-to-face sessions with online learning and collaboration. Completion of both the physical and virtual components is mandatory.

The physical parts will take place in St. Michael Alpine Retreat (former Bildungshaus St.Michael in Matrei) and at Universität Innsbruck from October 20-25, 2024.

Once your application is approved, there will be additional steps for you to complete.
1. Apply for a mobility seat/grant at your home institution:
The sending Aurora universities have allocated funds from Erasmus+ and other sources for participation in the attendance part of the Educational Hub Event. Please ensure that both we and your home university have all necessary documents before the event begins.
Please note that this process can take some time, so we strongly encourage you to begin as soon as possible!
2. Instructions for the incoming application at UIBK:
Please ensure that your Online Learning Agreement (OLA) is completed by 1 October 2024.
- Online Learning Agreement (OLA). Please contact the appropriate offices or your coordinator to create your OLA. For Universität Innsbruck, the responsible person for the OLA is Nikola Wochele, Mobility Coordinator. You can reach Ms Wochele via erasmus-bip@uibk.ac.at.
Information for your mobility officer: You may use grants from any year with available funding. Zero grants (funded by other sources such as the Aurora 2030) are also possible. All partner institutions have been added to the BIP, and it should be visible in your platform. To allocate the grants, you can search for the BIP by name or code:

3. Accommodation and logistics:
Travel arrangements are to be made individually. Please address any cost-related questions directly to your institutional Erasmus+ or BIP coordinator.
- Arrival
Matrei am Brenner is easily accessible by train from Innsbruck via the Schnellbahn S 3. There is a bus from Matrei am Brenner station to St. Michael Alpine Retreat; however, the bus runs irregularly on weekends, so please check the departure times in advance.
The event organization is working on arranging collective transport. To assist with this, please send your estimated arrival time at Matrei am Brenner train station to aurora-courses@uibk.ac.at.
St. Michael Alpine Retreat is approximately a 30-minute walk from the train station. Please note that it is located on a mountain, so depending on your luggage or any mobility restrictions, walking might not be the most convenient option.
- Transfer Matrei – > Innsbruck
On Thursday, 24 October, a transfer will be organized from St. Michael Alpine Retreat in Matrei to Universität Innsbruck - Agnes Heller haus in Innsbruck. This will be arranged as a joint journey via public transport or by bus.
- Accommodation, full board 20 – 24 October 2024 | St. Michael Alpine Retreat
For accommodation (including all meals) from October 20 to 24, a block of rooms has been pre-reserved at St. Michael Alpine Retreat for the event. If the reserved rooms are fully booked, you may need to find alternative accommodations in nearby establishments on a first-come, first-served basis. For logistical reasons, please make your own reservation directly with St. Michael Alpine Retreat . When booking, mention that you are attending an Aurora Educational Hub event.
The cost for accommodation, including full board, is approximately €90 per day. This amount should be covered directly by you or from the mobility funding you receive. Please be aware that you may need to pay this amount on-site and seek reimbursement later.
Before making your reservation, please clarify any necessary billing procedures with your sending university.

- Accommodation 24-25 October 2024 | Innsbruck
As part of the Educational Hub Event, a relocation from Matrei to Innsbruck is planned (see the current draft program), which will require different accommodation. Please consider this when planning your trip and make sure to reserve suitable accommodation in Innsbruck independently and in advance.
Accommodation costs, including meals, can vary significantly. Please check with your sending university about any maximum limits for accommodation expenses beforehand. A selection of possible accommodation providers can be found here.

To include you as an official participant in this BIP and register you in the Beneficiary Module, you must be an Erasmus+ grant holder. If your participation is funded by Aurora or other sources, you will be registered as a zero-grant Erasmus+ participant. 1. Proof of home nomination. We have attached a draft nomination letter for you to complete. This letter must be signed by your institutional mobility coordinator.
2. Mobility Agreement. This document must be signed and stamped before the mobility stay begins. As each Aurora university may have a different version of this document, please use the format specific to your institution.
