social and Extra-Curricular Political Education
The core task of the teaching and research area social and Extra-curricular Political Education, which is currently being set up, is to discuss education in general and extra-curricular political education in particular from the perspective of social inequality relations. At the centre of pedagogical and educational science issues lie the mutual interaction of pedagogy, education, policy and economics in their various forms.
Economic and political causes of social inequality and their influence on biographies, pedagogical, educational and living spaces are reflected, as are concrete constitutions of education and how these in turn develop their political effect. With regard to the question of the nature of extra-curricular practices and political implications, particular attention is paid to institutions of adult education, self-organisations, NGOs, social movements and youth work.
