In addition to the opening by Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer, Federal President Prof. Dr. Alexander Van der Bellen and Johannes Rauch, Federal Minister for social Affairs, Health and Care, there were numerous panel discussions with high-ranking domestic and foreign experts from politics, business, research and practice.
Univ-Prof. Dr. Weidmann, Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the LFU Innsbruck, was invited as an expert of an international panel on the topic "Evolution of pharmacy practice in Europe". Together with the EU Secretary General for Pharmacy, Ilaria Passarani, as well as the Chairman of the Pharmacist Defence Association (UK), Mark Koziol and the Vice President of the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists, Mag.pharm. Raimund Podroschko, discussed how the professional profile of pharmacists is changing in Europe and how Austria can keep pace with this development.
Pharm Martina Jeske, President of the Austrian Association of Hospital Pharmacists and Head of the Institutional Pharmacy of the Tirol Kliniken GmbH, discussed with the Chairman of the Council of the World Medical Association, Prof. Dr. Frank Ulrich Montgomery; the Austrian Patient Advocate Dr. Gerald Bachinger and Pharm. Susanne Ergott-Badawi, Member of the Presidium of the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists on the topic of "Patient:innersicherheit: Alles für die Gesundheit".
