QV Procedure

Procedure

  • Release of the position
  • Structured recruitment process

The objectives for the qualification agreement are defined as part of an appraisal interview. (In principle, the appraisal interview takes place with the immediate supervisor. In exceptional cases, it can also be delegated to the line manager).

The objectives (catalogue of possible qualification objectives) must be clearly defined and achievable within the qualification period (generally: 4 years) and cover the following areas:

  • Research
  • teaching
  • Leadership/management/social skills

The resources required to achieve the objectives must be agreed and borne by the institute. The availability of resources must be agreed in advance with the dean.

Please note that the qualification agreement must be offered within 12 months.

FAQs for the creation of a QV proposal

  • The contents of the QV proposal are forwarded to the advisory board via the dean.
  • Convening an advisory board meeting. Among other things, the advisory board has the task of reviewing the content of the proposal and ensuring compliance with the professional standards of the respective discipline.

Following a favourable decision by VR Personal, an addendum to the employment contract will be created as Assistant Professor:in.

The company agreement provides for an annual report on the status of target achievement, which is to be drawn up in an employee meeting between the QA candidate and the line manager.

  • You will be provided with an interim report form for this purpose, which you should use on an ongoing basis throughout the entire qualification period.
  • The joint declaration is essential as confirmation of the qualification progress; no supporting documents or other attachments are required for the interim report.
  • The Interim report is sent in .docx format via E-mail to the Vice-Rectorate for Research with the institute management and dean's office in cc and discussed at the next advisory board meeting.

The procedure is carried out in accordance with the evaluation guidelines.

At the end of the agreed QA period, the evaluation is started and a final report is due within 4 weeks.

In the event of a positive decision, the time limit is cancelled as Associate Professor.
