Linda Rausch studied sport science at the institute of human movement science, sport and health in Graz and at the sport science department in Innsbruck. In her doctoral thesis, she researched physiological and pathophysiological metabolism responses in hypoxia with the focus on women. During her doctoral thesis she also worked as exercise therapist with geriatric patients, who mainly suffered from internal diseases.

After her PhD studies, the general research interest shifted to investigating the effects of therapeutic exercise interventions in rehabilitation of internal diseases and psychosomatic disorders. In this area, she focusses on sex differences in order to contribute to a broader scope: gender equity in health.
