Ana Paula Hey (São Paulo)
Ana Paula Hey is Professor of Sociology at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. In May and June 2025, she is serving as an LFUI Guest Professor 2024/25 at the University of Innsbruck.
Ana Paula Hey is a leading figure in an international consortium of scholars developing the new "The World Elite Database" (WED), which aims to standardize and share data on elites worldwide. Her work combines Bourdieusian sociological theory with empirical analysis.
Weitere Informationen
The lecture will focus on the debate on elites and the composition of the Brazilian power field. In particular, it will attempt to reflect on the morphology of elites and the concentration of different types of power in Brazil today.
