About

Geographer Margreth Keiler researches long- and short-term changes in natural hazards and risks in mountain regions in the context of global change. The research is based on an interdisciplinary approach which considers natural and social processes equally. The analysis of the intersection of natural hazard processes and socio-economic factors as well as the development of models for human-landscape systems are central research topics. Her goal is to better understand the interactions and derive sustainable management decisions. She is co-chair of the 2nd Austrian Assessment Report on Climate Change, which will be prepared by 120 scientists by 2025.
