Michael Fuchs earned his doctoral degree in English & American studies at the University of Graz, where he also worked for close to a decade. After stints at the University of Siegen and the University of Oldenburg, Michael joined the department in spring 2022 as a postdoc in the research project “Delocating Mountains: Cinematic Landscapes and the Alpine Model” before joining the project “W( )oles and ( )holes: Politically Engaged Erasure Poetry in Twenty-First-Century United States” in July 2025. Michael’s research interests are varied, from horror and science fiction to US sports and intermediality. He also teaches in the Department of Media, Society and Communication.
