The students of this Bachelor’s degree programme acquire sound knowledge about the development of art of all periods and genres, art history practices and methods.
A major part of the programme is dedicated to teaching research methods and the classification of art in the context of art history and sociological contexts.

Supplemental Examination
Latin
Supplemental examination in Latin is required before completion of the bachelor's degree programme if this subject was not completed satisfactorily with at least 10 credit hours at a higher-level secondary school.

Graduates possess scientifically well-founded theoretical and methodical problem-solving skills in art development and art history. They are able to elaborate, evaluate and implement complex issues professionally and to apply them in interdisciplinary contexts.
The Bachelor’s Programme Art History conveys skills in examining art development (of all epochs and genres, including their historical environments, evolutionary conditions, functions etc.) and diverse art history methodology (history and theory of art studies) as well as art historical practice.
The bachelor’s programme qualifies for occupational activities in the fields of art and culture (e.g. museums, exhibitions, monument preservation), the educational sector, media as well as politics and economy (e.g. tourism, cultural management).
