Abstract revision

Paper Revision after Acceptance

If your paper has been accepted for either oral or poster presentation, you are invited to revise your submission. You may use this opportunity to include new results, incorporate reviewer feedback, or make any other improvements. However, please note that the revision is entirely your decision — if no updated version is submitted, we will proceed with your original submission. 

To upload the final paper login in the conference portal, select "Your submissions" and then "final upload".  Only the submitting author can uplad the final version 

Deadline for revised submissions: 31 July 2025

Please make sure to resubmit your revised paper by this date.

Please also not that presenting authors need to register until 31 May 2025, otherwise submissions are removed from confrence program

Publication Options

Your Paper Your Way - We offer following publications opportunities

1) Internal Conference Proceedings (default)
Your paper or abstract will be made available to registered conference participants but will not be publicly accessible, and no digital object identifier (DOI) will be assigned. This is the default option if no other choice is made.

2) Open Access Conference Proceedings (opt-in)
As part of our commitment to open and accessible research, we offer authors the option to publish their contributions digitally in Diamond Open Access,  If you choose this option during the submission process, your paper will be published open access under a CC-BY 4.0 license after the conference.
To select this option, you must:

  • Confirm the license agreement during submission.
  • Upload a revised version of your paper using the designated template that includes the license information; make sure the CC-BY license statement is included on the first page

Key details:

  • Digital & Open Access: The proceedings will be published exclusively online, ensuring global, immediate, and free access.
  • DOI Assignment: Each abstract will receive a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for permanent citation and easy referencing.
  • License: Contributions will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, allowing unrestricted sharing and reuse with proper attribution.
  • No Fees: Publication in the proceedings is free of charge for authors and free to read (Diamond Open Access model)

3) Special Issue in Water Science and Technology

The 13th Urban Drainage Modelling Conference (UDM2025) is pleased to be collaborating with IWA Publishing journal, Water Science & Technology. Curated and invited by Professor Wolfgang Rauch, Manfred Kleidorfer and Robert Sitzenfrei (University of Innsbruck), this Themed Collection will bring together high-quality research presented at the conference. To ensure that their paper is processed appropriately, when asked “Was your paper/abstract submitted to one of the 3 IWA conferences below?” please  select “Other” and input the code UDM2025 when prompted to provide the conference name. This will indicate that their submission is linked to the Urban Drainage Modelling Conference 2025.

It is the author's responsibility to comply with IWA publishing rules on authorship and originality (see https://iwaponline.com/pages/ethical_guidance). The journal requires that a substantial part of the paper is different from previous publications. If you choose to submit to the open access conference proceedings, we recommend that you submit only a short paper to the proceedings, or significantly revise the paper before submitting it to Water Science and Technology.

Abstract / Paper Guidelines

  • Template: Use the template provided and delete the instructions text (first page). You can download the template with the link below this text.
  • Ensure that the CC-BY licence statement is included on the first page, and that you confirm your opt-in during the final upload if you are opting for open access.
  • Number of Pages: Up to eight A4 pages including text, figures, tables and references. There is no word limit.
  • Do not include page numbers
  • Margins: Each A4 page should have 2.5 cm margins (top, bottom, left and right)
  • Font/Style: Title in Calibri Light font, size 18; headings in Calibri Light font, size 16; sub-headings in Calibri (body) font, bold, size 11; main text in Calibri (body) font, size 11. Titles/headings in blue colour, while the sub-headings and main text in black. Affiliations, addresses and corresponding author email in Calibri (body), size 9, italic, black, left indent 1.27cm. Email address is hyperlinked for easy contact. References in Calibri (body) font, size 9, black. All paragraphs followed by one white line space (11 font). All the styles are pre-set in the Styles menu of Word. Headings and subheadings are not numbered.
  • AI: We follow the AI recommendations from IWA Publishing: This allows the use of AI tools used within a manuscript, but does not allow for AI-generated content to be used in the place of human authorship. Authors will be held liable for any errors, potential plagiarism or inconsistencies introduced by AI tools. Authorship must be verifiable, which is not possible from an AI tool or content generator. If AI tools are used on an article submitted to IWA Publishing, their use must be clearly explained
  • Affiliations and correspondence: Include authors’ names on separate lines, in italics, and indicate the corresponding author with an asterisk (*). Include the address of ALL authors’ affiliations.
  • Sections: A recommended structure for the extended Abstract is: Abstract (200 words), Highlights, Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion & Future Work, References; If you want you can modify to best fit your research design.
  • Review and decision: All abstracts were reviewed. Acceptance decisions (oral, poster rejection) were based on these reviews, in the next phase there will be no peer review and the quality of the paper is the responsibility of the authors.
  • Filetypes: please upload both a pdf and a qord file under "final upload"

Presentation / Posster guidelines

Oral Presentations

  • Duration: 12 minutes for presentation + 3 minutes for discussion.
    Please keep strictly within this time window to ensure a smooth schedule.
  • Format recommendation: Use 16:9 aspect ratio for optimal display.
  • No specific design template is required – you are free to use your own layout.
  • Technical setup: Each session room is equipped with a Windows PC running Microsoft Office LTSC 2021 (PowerPoint) and a standard PDF viewer.
  • Uploading your presentation:Please bring your presentation on a USB stick directly to the presentation room and upload it no later than during the break before your session.

Poster Presentations

  • Size and orientation: A0 (841 mm × 1189 mm), portrait format.
  • Design: No official template is provided. You are free to use your own design.
