Thea Xenia Wiesli works at the Institute of Sociology on sustainable development, environmental behavior, food studies, meat consumption, animal-human relations and rural sociology. In her PhD-thesis at the University of Bern, she investigated the connection between sustainability and high quality of life in rural regions and nature parks.

About
Thea Xenia Wiesli studied sociology, media studies, art history, art and media theory and philosophy at the Zurich University of the Arts, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Basel. She received her PhD in sociology from the University of Bern in 2022. She worked there at the “Center for Development and Environment” and did research on food justice in Brasil and Switzerland, sustainable quality of life, the resettlement of mountain villages and nature parks. Since 2023, she has been working as a Postdoc at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Innsbruck.
