Studienförderpreis des Deutschen Freundeskreises der Universität in Innsbruck e.V.
Founded in 1922, the Deutscher Freundeskreis der Universitäten in Innsbruck e.V. (DFK for short) is an association of respected leaders from the fields of business, science, culture and politics. The objective of the DFK is to support the universities in Innsbruck and their students both ideally and materially, to promote co-operation between these universities in a spirit of partnership, to network their graduates with the business world and to foster friendly relations between its members.
To support students at the University of Innsbruck, the DFK is once again making three study sponsorship awards of 1,500 euros each available for 2025.
- Students of all faculties of the University of Innsbruck
- in the second half of their degree programme,
- who have outstanding academic achievements,
- committed plans and projects for the future
- and are pursuing a particularly ambitious goal with the help of the DFK Award.
- Applicants must be Austrian citizens or citizens of an EU member state.
- Students of the following degree programmes who are enrolled as regular students at the University of Innsbruck and are registered for continuation are eligible to apply:
- Bachelor's degree programme (90 ECTS-AP or more)
- For diploma programmes with two sections (completed first study section - also teaching degree)
- For diploma programmes with three sections (completed second study section)
- Master's degree programme (from 60 ECTS-AP)
- Criteria:
- Excellent academic success (excellent grade point average + normal duration of study plus 1 semester of tolerance per study section)
- Committed plans for the future

Documents to be submitted
- Application form download
- Curriculum vitae and proof of academic achievement with corresponding confirmations (certificates, study sheet and confirmation of study period – LFU:online, letter of recommendation from a supervisor)
- Brief description of the planned, in-progress or completed bachelor, diploma or master thesis (max. 2-3 pages)
- Brief description of the planned use of the grant (semester/year and/or internship abroad, research project, etc.) (max. 1 page)
The next call is expected to take place again in 2026.
The Vice-Rector for Research selects the award winners after reviewing the submitted documents.
The prizes are expected to be awarded in September 2025. The awards ceremony will take place during the DFK annual meeting in mid-October.
The German version of the call prevails over the English one in case deviations.
