Prize of the Principality of Liechtenstein

Preis des Fürstentums Liechtenstein für wissenschaftliche Forschung an der Universität Innsbruck und der Medizinischen Universität Innsbruck

The Principality of Liechtenstein annually awards the "Preis des Fürstentums Liechtenstein für wissenschaftliche Forschung an der Universität Innsbruck und der Medizinischen Universität Innsbruck".

This prize is awarded in recognition for outstanding scientific research. The total amount of the prize will be awarded to one or more prize winners (minimum amount for a prize: € 3,500).

As a rule, three prizes are awarded to members of the University of Innsbruck and one prize to a member of the Medical University of Innsbruck.

Scientific employees with PhD from all faculties of the University of Innsbruck.

At the time of submission, the doctoral degree must not have been completed more than a maximum of 12 years ago. Child-rearing periods (two years for each child cared for), care periods (usually care leave) and longer periods of serious illness that have led to a career interruption are taken into account. The respective submission date is used to determine the twelve-year period.

Monographs (incl. habilitations and published dissertations) or two to three content-related, top-class papers/essays. The works to be submitted must have been published or accepted for publication in the last three calendar years (i.e. 2021 or later).

The papers must hav anAffiliation to the University of Innsbruck.

In the case of collaborative work, only the main responsible author (first author or corresponding author) may submit in agreement with the co-authors.

Documents to be submitted

  1. Application form download
  2. Scientific paper(s) as .pdf upload or weblink (for dissertations and habilitations, please enclose the reviews)
  3. Abstract (max. 1 A4 page in the usual language for the respective scientific field in German or English)
  4. Detailed CV; list of relevant publications by the applicant (FLD extract)
  5. Informal declaration of consent from the co-authors

The next tender is expected to take place in summer/autumn 2025.

Scientific staff as well as students of the Medical University of Innsbruck. The prize is awarded in recognition of outstanding scientific research.

One to three scientific papers that have been completed or published at the Medical University of Innsbruck in the last three calendar years (i.e. 2021 or later).

The work must have an affiliation to the Medical University of Innsbruck. Only the first author or the corresponding author may submit it in agreement with the co-authors.

It should be noted that scientific work that has already been honoured by the University of Innsbruck or the Medical University of Innsbruck will not be awarded a prize a second time. This applies for the University of Innsbruck for the following prizes: Preis der Landeshauptstadt Innsbruck für wissenschaftliche Forschung an der Universität Innsbruck, Hypo Tirol Bank Dissertationspreis, Forschungspreis der Stiftung Südtiroler Sparkasse.

The award proposal will be drawn up by the responsible member of the Rectorate on the basis of independent expert opinions.

The German version prevails over the English in case deviations.
