3D puzzles in nutshells

Welcome to the 8th session in the lectures series 2022/2023 of LSU, the Lightweight Structures Unit, Faculty of Architecture, Universität Innsbruck hosted by Professor Günther H. Filz.

Our guest in this session is Dr. nat. techn. Sebastian Antreich from institute of Botany in University of Innsbruck and the session will be about Interlocking can be of highest interest for architecture and structures. In nature, we can find the two categories of static or adjustable interlocked structures. Sebastian Antreich, will share his research on 3D puzzles in nutshells, explaining how in sum they make a strong and tough tissue to protect the precious seed inside.
