847461 VO Lightweight Structures and Architecture
Master's Programme Architecture according to the curriculum 2019
Held by : Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Günther Filz, MEng
Learning Outcome:
The students acquire versatile aspects and knowledge regarding light and innovative strategies for the implementation of architectural typologies.Within the framework of the lecture, they delve into aspects and relationships of lightweight structures, their geometries, form-finding methods and tools, their manufacturing processes from the perspective of architecture, engineering, technology and sustainability. The recognition and understanding of these underlying relationships and principles enables a technological, as well as sustainable design approach for future design tasks.
Contents:
Imparting theoretical and practical knowledge in lightweight architecture including methods of planning, evaluation and execution taking into account geometry and ecological aspects.
Assessment:
Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations".
Literature:
Will be discussed in the first lesson.
Remarks:
The lecture is held as a series of lectures with international experts every Monday 16:00-18:00
