Masters Program Philosophy of Religion
The Department of Christian Philosophy at the University of Innsbruck’s Faculty of Theology has launched a new https://www.uibk.ac.at/en/programmes/ma-philosophy-of-religion/.
We are pleased with a successful start in autumn 2022 and are now welcoming applications for subsequent semesters.
The whole course of study may be taken either online via distance-learning, or on-site. Studied full-time, the course lasts 4 semesters over 2 years (120 ECTS points). Flexible part-time arrangements are also possible.
All classes are conducted in English. Here you can find information on the curriculum.
At the moment the application for the summer semester 2024 is still open for the EEA citizens.
The application deadlines for the oversea students:
June 15th 2024 for the winter semester 2024-25
October 15th 2024 for the summer semester 2025
The Masters program provides a solid education in theoretical and practical philosophy, both historical and contemporary. Graduates are empowered to think and act as responsible and autonomous agents in intercultural and interreligious dialogue, equipped with a sensitivity to the plurality of worldviews in a globalized society. The degree qualifies graduates for diverse careers, not least in higher education, the cultural sector, politics, and religious institutions.
All online courses are administered according to the highest standards of quality for online teaching, providing direct and regular communication in virtual classrooms, and easily accessible learning aids for self-study.

Tuition fees
Can I take the courses completely asynchronously?
The best learning in philosophy occurs when there is opportunity for real-time discussion, which our seminars provide. We aim to flexibly accommodate as many time zones as possible to enable everyone to participate in live meetings. However, if live meetings are impossible for you due to work, family, or similar constraints, please get in touch individually at philosophy-of-religion@uibk.ac.at and we will do our best to find a flexible arrangement. We cannot say in advance of individual discussion whether this will be possible or what it will look like, but we are certainly willing to make something work if we can.
